The program package also comes with our additional services such as priority customer support, multilingual translations, RGB customization interface, and our soon-to-be unique profile and game manager.
Both Premium and Highroller packages vary in features and limitations to feature combinations to use at one given time. As noted above and below this section, each vary in terms of abundance of features, cosmetic options, and preference control. For a complete comparison/contrast model, click HERE.
Located in the “Registry” tab, users are able to determine their maximum transmission unit and maximum segment size for network feature sustainability and compatibility with other features and perks within the program. Users can also determine their their Average MS by pinging a search engine, game server, or other desirable host or server they want feedback from.
Once calculated, ping-specific settings are applied within the registry editor to improve performance and adapt to certain MS ranges, which could ultimately improve performance at a certain level of connection.
For PREMIUM users, it must be manually calculated. Below is a guide for PREMIUM users to use Registry features effectively.
For HIGHROLLER users, the values are automated and updated upon a click of a button. For convenience, manual calculation is not needed, therefore the guide below is not needed for the most accurate and effective results.
Premium User Guide
What does the “Average MS” Feature do?
The “Average MS” feature implements certain hex values that are compatible with a desired ping (ms) to improve network sustainability with other features in GalaxyTweaker.
Benefits of this Feature
Benefits of this feature include user-unique dword values that significantly decrease ping and improve latency by applying settings dependent on a user’s Average MS.
Every time the application is closed, the presets are saved so you do not have to reactivate this feature.
If for any reason ping fluctuation occurs, applying another MS choice will overlay any existent settings, while also removing any values applied previously. See below to find your current Average MS.
Find Your Average MS
Selecting a multiple choice range
The first option covers applies values for 0-20ms, the second applies values for 21-40ms, the third option applies values for 41-90ms, and the last option applies values 90+ms. To find YOUR Average MS, click HERE.
Once your Average MS is calculated, select an appropriate range choice in the program.
What does the “MTU” Feature do?
MTU, or maximum transmission unit, sets specific parameters based off of a user’s communication interface. This calculates the largest packet/frame that is sent to a router, which transfers at that size.
Benefits of this Feature
This feature is binds of a user’s compatibility TCP settings to calculate the largest possible size for each packet sent in a transmission, preventing any re-transmissions, and modifying operating system default MTU to optimize your connection to servers that have different MTU values.
Calculate your MTU
To find your preferred MTU, hit WinKey + R and type “cmd”. Once this displays, copy and paste this command: “ping www.google.com -f -l 1500”, and press ENTER. (Without parenthesis)
If you get “Packet needs to be fragmented but DF set” as a response, you must now paste the same command as before, but subtract the number by 5. You want to make sure that you get a response from a search engine. For example, the new command would be: “ping www.google.com -f -l 1495”
Continue to subtract the end value by 5, until you get a response like this:
You may notice that at EXACTLY 1472, there is a reply. As I continued to deduct the end value by 5, I noticed that I started to receive a replies around 1470.
Once you find a suitable range where you start receiving replies, increase the value by 1 until you find your maximum. In this example, at 1472, I received a reply, but at 1473, I got “Packet needs to be fragmented but DF set” message. This concludes that 1472 is my accurate MTU.
Finally, insert your MTU into GalaxyTweaker “MTU Section”. Once you input your MTU, press the red calculator button once.
Every device is different, and in most instances, you’re not always going to get 1500. This is precisely why the feature has been implemented; safely calculating your maximum transmission unit to get the best performance out of your device.
What does the “MSS” feature do?
MSS, or maximum segment size, is the largest amount of data that can be transmitted in one transmission packet.
Benefits of this feature
MSS is an important in Internet connection, more specifically for browsing the internet. When the Internet’s Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) is utilized to spark an Internet connection; devices connected must each validate, and then set, a suitable MTU size compatible with both.
When data is routed over the Internet, it is required to pass through many gateway routers.
Connection speed is slowed down when the maximum segment size is too large for routers to intake, making oversized segments fragmented. The goal is to have a stable and small MSS for your device to ensure faster connection speed.
Calculate your MSS
To calculate your MSS, simply subtract your MTU- 40.
For example, 1500-40= 1460. Your MSS in this example would be equal to 1460.
The value “40” consists of: 40= (IP header(20 bytes) + TCP header(20 bytes)
Finally, insert your MSS into GalaxyTweaker “MSS Section”. Once you input your MSS, press the red CALCULATOR button once.
Every device is different, and in most instances, you’re not always going to get 1460, although it is common. This is precisely why the feature has been implemented; safely calculating your maximum segment size to get the best performance out of your device.
For our example, you would end up with “MSS = 1460”. Click the green APPLY button at the bottom and restart your computer.
Filled with network and ping-related features, the “Network” tab is a container for all optimization features that may be subject to improving ping, latency, and TCP-related settings for your device.
PREMIUM members have access to three directly-applicable network optimization features under the Network tab, and HIGHROLLER users have access to six.
Filled with interactive user-dependent calculation features, the “Registry” tab is a container for all optimization features that may be subject to improving device-dependent performance features through Windows Registry Editor, including cache scripts, utility tools and hex value application.
PREMIUM members have access to three manually-calculable optimization features within this tab, and HIGHROLLER users have access to seven automated features with toggle settings that are dependent on a user’s scenario.
Filled with management and utility-priority , the “Performance” tab is a container for all optimization features that may be subject to improving general software-to-hardware performance tweaks and quality-of-life for speed.
PREMIUM users have access to four directly-applicable performance optimization features under the Performance tab, and HIGHROLLER users have access to eight.
MOUSE & ACCESSORIES
Filled with hardware-accesory and external device-related optimization features, the “Mouse” tab is a container for all features-related to a user’s device accessories.
Although harmless, the current features published to current versions of GalaxyTweaker are experimental, with much room for improvement in regards to the connection of software capabilities being able to impact all more devices outside mice, keyboards, and other essential external computer parts.
PREMIUM users have access to three directly-applicable accessory optimization features under the “Mouse” tab, and HIGHROLLER users have access to four.
